About MIS

Operating since 1993, Melaka International School was the brainchild of Allahyarham the late, Dr Mohamed Ishak Syed Ahmed and his wife Mrs Shamsunnisa Ishak. Established with the support of the State Economic Development Corporation and The Melaka Foundation, Melaka International School was modelled on the British school system with a vision to create successful individuals who proudly hail from an educational institution in the historic state of Melaka.

Taking a global perspective through 21st century learning, Melaka International School believes that every student is a unique individual deemed for success. MIS accepts students from the ages of 4 to 18 (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary & A-Level). Licensed by the Ministry of Education of Malaysia (MOE), Melaka International School’s students and faculty members come from more than 15 countries across the globe. Our culture of embracing diversity has made the school a close-knit family of learners who are eager to share, support and understand one another better.

As an approved Cambridge International Examination Center, Melaka International School proudly adopts the internationally recognised Cambridge qualifications that are proven as an excellent launch-pad towards higher education, career, and an exciting life ahead.

Kindergarten

MIS Kindergarten welcomes pupils from the age of four. We place great emphasis on learning through play and interaction while focusing on key areas of language and number literacy. Hands-on activities and fieldtrips give pupils opportunities to learn through discovery.

Primary

MIS Primary caters to students aged between six and twelve. Students are given a solid foundation in academic subjects through an interactive curriculum that encourages self-directed learning.

Secondary

MIS Secondary prepares students from age twelve to seventeen to sit for the University of Cambridge ‘O’ level IGCSE in Year 11, through a comprehensive and rigorous academic curriculum.
