About MIS

Operating since 1993, Melaka International School (MIS) was founded by the late Dr. Mohamed Ishak Syed Ahmed and his wife, Mrs. Shamsunnisa Ishak, with support from the State Economic Development Corporation and The Melaka Foundation. Modeled on the British school system, MIS aims to nurture successful individuals from the historic state of Melaka.

With a global perspective and 21st-century learning approach, MIS believes every student is unique and capable of success. The school accepts students aged 4 to 18, covering Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary, and A-Level programs. Licensed by the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE), MIS hosts students and faculty from over 15 countries, creating a diverse, close-knit learning community.

As an approved Cambridge International Examination Center, MIS offers internationally recognized Cambridge qualifications, preparing students for higher education, rewarding careers, and an exciting future.

Kindergarten

MIS Kindergarten welcomes pupils from the age of four. We place great emphasis on learning through play and interaction while focusing on key areas of language and number literacy. Hands-on activities and fieldtrips give pupils opportunities to learn through discovery.

Primary

MIS Primary caters to students aged between six and twelve. Students are given a solid foundation in academic subjects through an interactive curriculum that encourages self-directed learning.

Secondary

MIS Secondary prepares students from age twelve to seventeen to sit for the University of Cambridge ‘O’ level IGCSE in Year 11, through a comprehensive and rigorous academic curriculum.
