MIS Humanities Department has successfully ended the Heritage Week with a full day events of Melaka Heritage Day in school .
With a Trishaw Ride around the school compound first thing in the morning, the students were thrilled and many of them had their first experienced of riding the iconic Melaka tourism attraction in the city, which is the colourful entertaining trishaw 🥳
Next, they had the chance to meet ‘Remy Pendekar Gasing’, watched the demonstration and learned how to play the gasing or spinning top, which was a popular game during the time of the Malaccan Sultanate and still being an evergreen game played by the elderly and even youngsters. Some of them also bought wooden handmade gasings sold that came in a variety of shapes and sizes. Along with that, the students had fun doing Bamboo Umbrella and Batik Painting and playing other traditional games like Layang-layang, Congkak, and Batu Seremban.
As closure of the day, a Mini Concert of Historical Malacca was held in the MIS Auditorium. All of the Kindergarten and Year 1 to 4 students showcased their talents and performances like Malacca Folktales Story Telling, Mak Inang Keyboard Recital, Mo Li Hua Dance, Tarian Nyonya, Dondang Sayang Junior Choir, Ewau Bulan Dikir Barat and Dhandiya Kolatam Dance. Parents were also invited and joined the concert
